Who We Are

I have originally founded Climbingbus in 2010 as a climbing school. It focused on climbing courses in gym and rock as well and offen as not abroad or even off the continent. Over the years I started to feel limited by not being able to provide wider services to my clients, as only a travel agency can, as I have found out that many people fear the transit from gym to rocks partly (some even mostly) because of the travel logistic it takes or because they do not have a climbing partner to travel with. Today Climbingbus is a licensed travel company with a growing team and opening new destinations. We have some one-time clients, who just needed the first climbing trip experience, and I feel priviliged to have provided it. But those are a minority. I am happy and honoured that most of our clients take regular climbing trips with us and some of them go climbing outside solely with us. Maybe it's the atmosphere, the services, the people... I leave it to your own judgement and scrutiny.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy as stated in the GTC: 

1. You are entitled to withdraw from the contract at any time before the start of the trip without giving a reason under the conditions of payment of severance pay - the so-called cancellation fee as follows:

   a. in the amount of 50 € / person + 30% of the price of the tour / service, but at least in the amount of costs charged by service providers who form the tour, if the withdrawal from the contract occurred 60 days or more before the start of the tour / service;

   b. in the amount of 50 € / person + 50% of the price of the tour / service, but at least in the amount of costs charged by service providers who form the tour, if the withdrawal from the contract occurred less than 30 days and 30 days or more before the start of the tour / service;

   c. in the amount of 50 € / person + 75% of the price of the tour / service, but at least in the amount of costs charged by service providers who form the tour, if the withdrawal from the contract occurred less than 30 days and 15 days or more before the start of the tour / service;

   d. in the amount of 100% of the tour price, if the withdrawal from the contract occurred 14 days or less before the start of the tour / service.

Do I need travel insurance?

It is highly recommended as well s any COVID-19 insurance and extreme sport insurance. As yet we do not sell travel insurance or any other insurance. In near future you would be able to buy travel insurance and special sport insurances from us with your trips, however.

How do I know which trip is right for me?

All our trips are amazing and all climbing disciplines - be it bouldering, rock climbing or trad climbing, have the climbing movement in common. Do not worry about your level or grades. In destinations we visit there is always plenty to choose from for beginners and highly advanced climbers alike. Let your dreams be your guide in the choice and just pick your dream destination.

Can you help me with visa or tickets?

Yes, gladly. There is a 40€  administration fee for all services outside our basic package offer, but if you need any help with logistics we are here for you.

Can I make my trip longer or shorter?

Yes of course. Sadly we do not provide discounts for shorter stays. We will manage an extra airport or train station transfer for you, however.

For longer stays there are two scenarios:

1. In certain destinations you can combine two or more full dates, for which we can provide you a slight discount. If you want to combine just parts of the dates (come early through first batch and leave sooner before the second batch ends, or any other combination), you can but the price remains the same as for the full dates.

2. You can come before the trip starts or stay after it has ended and take advantage of some or all of our services - accommodation, transportation, coaching, guiding, catering. These services are charged based on a daily fee for each destination + one time administration fee of 40€. Contact us for the list of destinations where this is possible. 

How do I know about COVID-19 and visa requirements for your trips?

After booking you will get a booking confirmation with basic trip information. Based on your country of origin you will then get a customized information email with visa requirements and links and updated COVID-19 entry information. You can contact us before booking as well and we will gladly email you the current requirements.
